Admission Form is available at the University from 15th May, 2015 onwards on payment of Rs.600.00 for Indian students and Rs. 1200.00 for foreign/NRI students by cash or bank draft in favour of the Registrar, I. K. S. Vishwavidyalaya payable at Khairagarh.
Date of admission
Duly filled admission form with all attested documents should reach the University Teaching Department latest by 26th June, 2015. The above dates are also applicable for M. Phil. Students. Foreign/ NRI students are eligible for further relaxation up to 14th August 2015 after obtaining special permission from the Vice-Chancellor. Students have to produce the original certificates at the time of aptitude test for verification. Applicants are advised to read the Rules & Regulations very carefully before submitting the admission form. Incomplete admission form will not be entertained.
Aptitude test (for all Faculties) will be held on 06th-07th July 2015.
Applicants have to clear the aptitude test for admission in their choice of programme.
On the basis of the candidates performance necessary approvals for admission will be sanctioned to deserving candidate by the Departmental Admission Committee.
Admission list will be released by/on 10th July 2015. Selected candidates are expected to complete the admission formalities on or before 16th July 2015. If the selected candidate fails in completing the admission formalities within the stipulated period then the seat will be allotted to the student from waiting list. If required, another aptitude test may be conducted and accordingly dates will be intimated.
Except the students from the 1st Semester other students are required to complete the admission procedure on/by 22nd June 2015. Classes will commence from 1st July 2015. Students are expected and advised to attend the clasess immediately after getting the admission in 1st Semester of their respective course.

Relaxation in upper age limit
1. No age limit for women candidates.

2. No age limit for admission in the courses running by the Department of Life Long Learning.
3. Relaxation in age limit by 3 years for the applicants belonging to SC, ST and OBC category.
4. Relaxation in upper age limit by 5 years for handicapped/differently abled applicants.

Reservation & Relaxation
This university has reserved seats for the applicants belonging to different categories in all degree and diploma courses as mentioned hereunder:
1. Scheduled Tribes : 32%
2. Scheduled Caste : 12%
3. OBC : 14%
4. Handicapped : 03%
5. Foreign / NRI students : 10%
6. For the children of Indian workers, working in Gulf Countries : 05%
7. For the students, whose parents are transferred from other states to : 10 %

8. The percentage of reservation in each category is interchangeable.
9. In case some part of the quotas remains vacant it will be open for the students of general category, for the academic session.
10. Relaxation in minimum prescribed marks for admission by 5% for the applicants belonging to

SC and ST category.
11. The following special relaxation for Kashmiri Migrant Students given by the Govt. of India is also applicable in this University -
• Extension in date of admission by about 30 days.
• Subjected to the minimum eligibility requirement, relaxation in cut-off percentage up to 10%.
• Increase in intake capacity up to 5% course-wise.
• Reservation of at least one seat in merit quota in technical/ professional institution.
• Waiving of domicile certificate.
• Facility of migration in second and subsequent years.
• 02 Seats with respect to the overall seats will be reserved for the candidates from Jammu & Kashmir.

List of Documents required to be submitted along with the application form
1. Attested photocopies of mark-sheets and certificates of qualifying examinations.
2. Proof of date of birth.
3. Character certificate from the last attended Institution or competent authority. (Attested photocopy)
4. In case of gap(s) between two sessions, an affidavit from a competent authority is required.
5. Applicants seeking admission under reserved category must submit a latest certificate from the competent authority in support of their claim.
6. Transfer certificate must be submitted in original at the time of admission.
7. On the recommendation from the head of the department, a period of one month will be given to submit the migration certificate.

Additional documents required from Foreign/NRI Students
1. AIDS clearance certificate.
2. Student visa.

Admission Restrictions
1. University will not allow any such student for admission, whose conduct is not conducive to the traditions and academic environment of the University.
2. Change in subjects, if required, will be allowed only once before 31st August 2015 with special permission of the Vice-Chancellor on the recommendation of the concerned H.O.D.
3. B.F.A., B.A. (Theater), M.F.A., and M.A. (Theater) courses are not available for private students.
4. Student, who has discontinued in the middle of a session or failed in the examination, will not be eligible for re-admission in the same course as a regular student. It is not applicable for foreign / NRI student.
5. Student, who fails to appear in the annual examination due to illness, accident or any other genuine reasons, may be allowed to take admission in the following session in the same course. This may be permitted with the approval of the Vice Chancellor on the recommendation of the H.O.D. concerned. This facility is provided only once during a course. Guardian of such student must inform the university authorities about the student’s inability to appear in the examination, stating the genuine reasons with required certificates from a competent authority (medical or otherwise) within two weeks.
6. If a candidate is already a postgraduate degree holder then he/she is allowed to pursue study for another Post Graduate degree as private candidate for subject he/she is eligible.

7. In Semester Examination, back paper/paper back cases will be addressed as per the Unviersity Rules & Regulations.
8. University rules allow a student to study at the next higher class even after getting A.T.K.T. in one of the subjects at UG level. Such student must clear the exam in two attempts otherwise he/she will cease to be a student of the university.
9. A.T.K.T. facility will be provided to the student for the written papers of degree course only. No A.T.K.T. will be provided for any of the practical Examinations.
10. A student, availing A.T.K.T. in final year of graduation, shall not be admitted in Post Graduation, unless he/she clears the same.
11. A Candidate, who fails to complete any course in due period and crosses the upper age limit will not be allowed to take admission as regular candidate in the next academic session.
12. University recognizes the degrees/diplomas/certificates awarded by the UGC/AIU recognized Universities and run by Government of India or the State Governments. A list in this regard is attached separately.
13. The handicapped/differently able applicants, whose abilities are not found suitable for the course applied for, shall not be considered.
14. Every student must clear Diploma, Under Graduate and Post Graduate level examination as Regular/Private within 5 years maximum or upto upper age limit, which is applicable. The University will not give any additional time for completing any course.


  • Hostel Rules
    1. The university has separate hostels for boys and girls within the campus. The hostels have their separate mess.
    2. Admission to hostel shall be granted by a committee constituted by the university.
    3. Hostel facility is not available for Diploma students.
    4. University will provide only existing facilities. University is not bound to provide extra facilities.
    5. Hostlers are required to deposit the hostel charges for one academic session in one installment.
    6. Students shall have to enclose a medical fitness certificate from a Civil Surgeon/ Registered Medical Practitioner before admission in hostel.
    7. Electric appliances like bulbs and tube-lights shall be provided only once by the university, at the beginning of the session. Using any extra electrical gadgets in the Hostel is an offence for which a fine of Rs. 500.00 will be levied on the spot.
    8. University reserves the right to expel any hosteller suffering from contagious disease on the recommendation of the Registered Medical Practitioner.
    9. Hostellers are advised to take care of their belongings themselves.
    10. Warden of girls’ hostel has right to check the mails of hostellers.
    11. Inmates will be allowed to visit only the visitors authorized by their Parents/Guardian.
    12. It is compulsory to have meal in hostel mess. Mess facility will be available only after payment of prescribed mess charge. Hostellers must pay their mess charges before 10th of every month.
    13. All the hostellers must be present in their allotted rooms during the inspection by the hostel warden at 9.00 pm daily.
    14. Main gate of the girls’ hostel will be closed at 7.30 pm and boys’ hostel at 10.00 pm.
    15. Female hostellers are not allowed to go/stay out of the hostel after 7.30 pm without prior permission of the hostel warden.
    16. Local students are not allowed to avail the hostel facility.
    17. Unauthorized writing on the walls is strictly prohibited.
    18. Participation in ragging or abetting in any manner is prohibited and punishable.
    19. Hostellers should reside only in their allotted rooms.
    20. In case of damage of any hostel property, hostellers will be charged cash penalty for the same.
    21. Hostellers are not allowed to leave or stay outside Khairagarh without permission of hostel wardens.
    22. Smoking and using Liquor/Drugs in the hostel is strictly prohibited and punishable.
    23. Hostellers are strictly prohibited to participate in any kind of anti - social activities.
    24. Hostellers should completely vacate their rooms after the end of the session and submit the keys of their rooms to the hostel warden before leaving.
    25. The University has all rights to modify/add /delete the rules from time to time.
    26. Parents must be present with girls at the time of admission in the hostel.
    27. University reserves the right to allot the hostel as per availability.
    28. Hostel Warden may inspect any room at any time without prior intimation.

Code of Conduct
1. All the students must adhere to the ‘University Code of Conduct’ and ‘Anti – Ragging Ordinance’ available with Proctor and Dean of Students Welfare.
2. Ragging, in or outside the campus, is strictly prohibited and considered a cognizable offence.
3. If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned students shall be given chance to explain and if his/her explanation is not satisfactory, the authority would expel him/her from the institution.
4. A Proctorial-Board, (consisting of three senior university teachers, two senior students, two guardians, Proctor, Dean of Students Welfare, Wardens of girls and Boys Hostels) is constituted especially for the purpose of vigilance and recommendation of disciplinary actions.
5. For any anti-disciplinary act or misconduct of the students, inside or outside the university campus, disciplinary actions including suspension, expulsion, debarring from appearing in the examinations and rustication etc. will be taken on the recommendation of the Proctorial Board.
6. The girls are expected to attend the classes in sober dresses (like Salwar-kurta or Saree-blouse).
7. Smoking and using Liquor/Drugs in the campus is strictly prohibited and punishable.
8. In case of any dispute relating to admission/qualification/fee/reservation/age limit etc., decision of the university shall be final.
