The Department was established in 1956 and is engaged in teaching different styles of Hindustani Vocal Music. Department offers Under Graduate B.P.A. (Eight semesters) and Post Graduate M.A. (Four semesters) programmes. Department also runs various diploma courses especially to motivate young budding artist and school kids towards music. Diploma courses in classical vocal called Prathama, Madhyama, Vid and Kovid of two years each and light music diploma course, called Geetanjali of two years (Junior & Senior) are also available for music lovers. Apart from above, the department also provides research opportunities in the field of Music through M. Phil., Ph. D. and D. Lit. programmes.
गायन विभाग अपने स्थापना वर्ष 1956 से हिन्दुस्तानी गायन की विभिन्न शैलियों के प्रशिक्षण में संलग्न है | विभाग में स्नातक बी.पी.ए. (आठ सेमेस्टर) तथा स्नातकोत्तर एम.ए. String Instruments
Established in early 70’s, the Department of Instrumental Music (String) is the prime department under the faculty of Music in Central India imparting musical knowledge in Instruments like Violin, Sitar and Sarod. The department offers comprehensive education in Violin, Sitar and Sarod in undergraduate (B.P.A-8 Semester Programme) and postgraduate programme (M.A- 4 Semester). Research is encouraged through M.Phil, Ph.D and D.lit programmes. The department also offers various Diploma programmes viz. Prathama, Madhyama ,Vid and Kovid to generate interest amongst the young generation towards the string Instruments. The department imparts education through traditional and institutional teaching methods.
Teachers and performers like Prof. Vasant Ranade, Prof Balram Pathak, Shri Suresh Mishra, Prof. Roop Kumar Soni, Prof. Prakash Mahadik (Violin), Prof. Sanjoy Bandopadhyay (Sitar), Shri Joydeep Ghosh (Sarod) and Smt. Bijli Panda (Sitar) have given their services in the past. Eminent personalities like Ustad Abdul Haleem Jafer Khan, Pt. Arvind Pareekh (Sitar) and Shri D.K Datar (Violin) have also contributed for the department through visiting lectures, workshops and refresher courses.
Presently the department comprises of teachers and performing artists- Dr. Himanshu Vishwaroop (Associate Professor- Violin and H.O.D), and Shri Vivek Naware (Assistant Professor-Sarod) , (String Instruments) - Prof Dr. Naman Dutt : In-charge & Head.
Students from all over India and also from abroad are learning Violin, Sitar and Sarod, including students sponsored by ICCR-New Delhi. Students are encouraged to participate in National youth festivals, National Scholarships and perform in various prestigious events. Percussion Instruments
1994 से संगीत संकाय के अन्तर्गत अवनद्ध वाद्य विभागपृथक विभाग के रुप में कार्यरत है इस विभाग में डिप्लोमा से लेकर स्नातक, स्नातकोत्तर एवं पी-एच.डी.तक की शिक्षा दी जाती है।इस वर्ष से चतुर्वर्षीय बी.पी.ए.पाठ्यक्रम प्रारम्भ हुआ है। इस वर्ष बी.पी.ए प्रथम सेमेस्टर में छात्रों की अत्यधिक रूचि देखे गई है। प्रतीत होता है की चार वर्षीय पाठयक्रम ने छात्रों को आकर्षित किया है। सदैव ही विभाग के छात्रों ने विभिन्न प्रतियोगिता एवं कार्यक्रम में सफलता प्राप्त कर ख्याति अर्जित की। इस वर्ष भी अनेक प्रतियोगिताओं एवं कार्यक्रमों में विभाग के छात्रों ने सफलतापूर्वक अपनी प्रतिभागिता निभायी। विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग, नयी दिल्ली की अतिथि अध्येता योजना के अन्तर्गत अवनद्ध वाद्य विभाग इंदिरा कला संगीत विश्वविद्यालय, खैरागढ़ में समय-समय पर विभिन्न विद्वानों को आमंत्रित किया गया।
Since 1994, the Percussion Department has been functioning as a part of under the Faculty of Music. This department offers training from diploma to undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. The four year BPA course started from last year. This year in the BPA semester, it has seen a lot of interest from the students. The four-year course seems to have attracted students. The students of the department always earned fame by succeeding in various competitions and programs. This year too, students of the department successfully participated in many competitions and events. Various scholars were invited from time to time under the Guest Fellows Scheme of University Grants Commission, New Delhi, in the Percussion department of Indira Kala Sangit University, Khairagarh.

Graphic Arts is widely known as Printmaking and an established art form in the field of visual arts. Department of Graphics (Print Making) was established in 1989.Khairagarh has been in the forefront in the field of Graphic Arts for the last two and a half decades with spectacular achievements through serving as a major training ground providing a permanent and suitably equipped place for various printmaking techniques.The department focuses on the study of modern Graphic techniques like: Etching,Mezzotint,Dry Point,Engraving,Spit Bite,Multi Plate,Viscosity ,Lino Cut,Relief print,Wood Cut,Serigraphy,Collography,Lithography,Plate lithography,Mixed media and Intaglio.. Diploma courses in classical vocal called Prathama, Madhyama, Vid and Kovid of two years each and light music diploma course, called Geetanjali of two years (Junior & Senior) are also available for music lovers. Apart from above, the department also provides research opportunities in the field of Music through M. Phil., Ph. D. and D. Lit. programmes.
Students are given the possibilities of freedom in shaping their ideas, while their own standpoints and artistic opinions are honed and stimulated through discussions with teachers. Special focus is on the development of students' own independent grasp of graphics with the maximum effort is made to encourage experimentation within the broader field of visual arts and its overlap with other media. The departments are basically dedicated to creative and innovative reproduction in the field of Visual Arts and are taught technical and aesthetic aspects of Printmaking.
The Department of Graphics offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate Program stressing creative and intellectual thinking; awareness of individual, social, cultural, and communicative issues; the integration of new technology, and a concern for ethical implications of the natural environment.
The primary goal of the curriculum is to educate students, to make them capable of integrating form and information for the purposes of effective visual communication.

Established in 2013, the Department of Craft & Design offers graduate level Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) program in Textile Design & Fashion Design. The objectives of these programs are to provide quality design education at affordable cost and to impart training to enhance employability opportunities to its graduates.
About the B.Voc. Program The six semester B.Voc. program in Textile Design & Fashion Design starts with Design Foundation modules throughout the I semester, while II, III, IV & V semesters cover specialization modules through theory inputs, practical training and independent design projects. The last and VI semester prepare the students to take up 12 – 16 week design internship within chosen industry domain including handloom sector. The three departmental electives spread across IV, V & VI semesters provide an opportunity to further sharpen skills in their chosen area within the subject while one open elective in the final and VI semester give a chance to learn outside their core subject.
B.Voc. Textile Design specialization trains the students in Print, Woven & Surface Design techniques. Although, the modules cover designing for both Apparel & Textile industry, the course focuses on Home Textile industry domain. The expected job roles for the graduates range from Textile Designer, Embroidery digitizer, Sample Coordinator, Jacquard designer, Merchandisers, Product developer and etc.
B.Voc. Fashion Design specialization introduces the students to pret-a-porter (ready to wear) segment with focus on Indian and western women’s wear covering both casual and formal party wears. The job opportunities for these graduates include Fashion Designer, Stylist, Sample Coordinator, Merchandiser, Pattern maker, Product developer and etc.
The students are encouraged and guided to set their own career goals be it further studies, acquiring jobs or to become an entrepreneurs and so on.
Infrastructure Being a skill oriented program, each specialization required appropriate workshops and labs to give practical hands on training to the students. The studios are set up with the UGC grant-in-aid received for starting the B.Voc program in 2014. An over view of the studio workshops and labs are as under.
Weaving Studio: The weaving studio equipped with 20 Table top handlooms, each fitted with double warping beams and 12 heald shafts. There are all necessary equipment and tools for preparation of warp for weaving.
Dyeing & Printing Lab: The lab is equipped with basic tools and equipment consists of a Table for printing, wood blocks and utensils. The lab is under development.
Garment Construction Lab: The GC lab is equipped with 12 JUKI Single Needle Lockstitch Flat Bed (electric) industrial sewing machines and 1 JUKI 4 needle Over-lock safety stitch sewing machine. There is one pressing table and an electric domestic press as well.
Draping & Pattern Making Studio: The studio is equipped with 31 mannequins that include 20 female, 9 male and 2 kids dress forms. The there is a temporary setup of pattern making tables. Computer Aided Design Lab: The CAD lab is equipped with 10 high end desk top computer systems with 22inch display monitors. The lab is equipped with professional Design software for Textile Design & Fashion Design. The software include NEDGRAPHICS Textile Design software, WILCOM Embroidery digitizing software and OPTITEX Fashion Design software besides other standard commonly used software.

लोक संगीत एवं कला संकाय
लोक संगीत विभाग
वर्ष 1978 में लोकसंगीत विभाग प्रारम्भ किया गया था। उत्तरोत्तर विकसित होते हुए वर्ष 1984 में यह लोक संगीत एवं कला संकाय के रूप में स्थापित हुआ। संकाय लोक संगीत एवं दूरदराज के क्षेत्रों की लोककला के प्रचार एवं उनके मूल रूप के संरक्षण हेतु कार्य कर रहा है। इस विभाग में लोक संगीत एवं कला के क्षेत्र में सैद्धांतिक एवं प्रायोगिक दोनों पक्षों का अध्ययन कराया जाता है।
विभाग सक्रिय रूप से विभिन्न भारतीय लोक नृत्य रूपों व देश की विभिन्न लोक परम्पराओं के संरक्षण, शिक्षण एवं अनुसंधान में सतत् रूप से संलग्न है। विभाग में स्नातक स्तर पर बी.पी.ए. तथा स्नातकोत्तर स्तर पर एम.पी.ए. पाठ्यक्रम संचालित है। यह विभाग छःमाही सर्टिफिकेट कोर्स के अलावा एक वर्षीय डिप्लोमा, दो वर्षीय डिप्लोमा पाठ्यक्रम भी संचालित करता है। साथ ही लोकसंगीत, लोकनृत्य एवं लोककला क्षेत्र से जुड़े अनुसंधान / शोध कार्यों के अर्न्तगत पी-एच.डी. एवं डी.लिट करने की सुविधा विभाग में उपलब्ध है ।
विभाग द्वारा प्रतिवर्ष कार्यशाला, राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी इत्यादि आयोजित किये जाते हैं। चक्रधर समारोह, खैरागढ़ महोत्सव, तातापानी महोत्सव, चित्रकोट महोत्सव, डोंगरगांव महोत्सव, गनियारी महोत्सव, युवा उत्सव, कुदरगढ़ महोत्सव, नर्मदा महोत्सव एवं अन्य विभिन्न सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों के साथ ही विभिन्न समारोह में सक्रिय भागीदारी रहती है।

Department of English was established in 1971. The Department has been actively involved in the teaching of English Language and Literature to the students of BPA, BFA and B.Voc. In addition to that students are offered a One Year Diploma and Advanced Diploma Course in Communicative English which is joined by the students from India and abroad, like Sri Lanka and Mauritius in large numbers. The Department offers Ph.D and D.Litt. programme and has produced more than a dozen PhDs in diverse areas relating not only to English but other interdisciplinary areas like Theatre, Folk Art and Fine Arts .In its effort to further contribute to the field of knowledge, Department of English is introducing its new postgraduate course M.A. English from the academic session 2020-21.
To cater the need of the students Department also runs a well equipped Language Lab with Words Worth Language Lab Software, which significantly contributes in teaching and learning of English language through various smart aids, devices. Academic programmes offered by the department are not only joined by national but also international students studying in the University.
Department is also abuzz with various academic and research activities with annually organizing International and National Conferences and Seminars, workshops, invited lectures etc. from time to time. The department has also been visited by a great number of scholars and Visiting Fellows. It also brings out the Research Journal Literary Discourses (ISSN: 0976-2035) annually. Department also has rich collection of published works by its faculty members. In near future, Department seeks to have further involvement through collaborations for exchange programmes from different educational institutions from all over the globe for teaching, research and related activities.

विभाग का स्थापना वर्ष 1971 है। विभाग में हिन्दी भाषा एवं हिन्दी साहित्य विषयो की शिक्षा स्नातक स्तर पर दी जाती है। सृजनात्मक लेखन विषय पर एकवर्षीय डिप्लोमा पाठ्यक्रम भी संचालित है। स्नातक स्तर पर प्रयोजनमूलक हिन्दी (फंक्सनल हिन्दी) वैकल्पिक विषय का पाठ्यक्रम चतुर्थ सेमेस्टर के एक प्रश्नपत्र के रूप में सम्मिलित है। सत्र 2020-21 से एम.ए. की कक्षाएँ प्रारम्भ हो रही हैं। पी-एच.डी. एवं डी.लिट्. उपाधियों के लिए शोध कार्य करने की सुविधा भी है, जो साहित्य एवं विभिन्न कलागत विधाओं के परस्परावलम्बन पर केन्द्रित होता है।
विभाग के तत्वावधान में अब तक 05 राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठिया, 01 अन्तराष्ट्रिय संगोष्ठिय एवं तीन सप्तदिवसीय कार्यशालए आयोजित हो चुकी हैं। विभाग द्वारा सत्र 2016-17 से विद्यार्थियों की सृजनात्मक प्रतिभा की दिग्दर्शक पत्रिका का प्रकाशन प्रारम्भ हुआ है। इसके दो अंक निकल चुके हैं, तीसरे अंक के प्रकाशन की प्रक्रिया चल रही है।

संस्कृत विभागइन्दिरा कला सङ्गीत विश्वविद्यालय खैरागढ में कला सङ्काय के अन्तर्गत संस्कृत-विभाग स्थापित है। 1971 से 2020 तक की अवधि में अध्यन-अध्यापन का कार्य होता है। संस्कृत-साहित्य ललित कलाओं के ज्ञान को सम्पुष्ट करता है ईसके साथ ही संस्कृत-भाषा के माध्यम से ललित कलायें भी अभिव्यक्त होती है। इस दृष्टि से सङ्गीतादि कलाओं के सहायक के रूप में संस्कृत-विभाग कार्य कर रहा है। बी.पी.ए. पाठ्यक्रम के तहत् सहायक विषय के रूप में संस्कृत-साहित्य एवं संस्कृत-भाषा का अध्यापन किया जाता है।
संस्कृत-साहित्य का ललित कलाओं से अन्तःसम्बन्ध स्थापित करने की दृष्टि से अन्तर अनुशासनात्मक शोधकार्य विभाग द्वारा किये जाते हैं। सत्र 2020-21 में संस्कृत-साहित्य. एम.ए. स्नातकोत्तर पाठ्यक्रम आरम्भ हो रहा है। इस प्रकार संस्कृत-विभाग ललित कलाओं को निरन्तर प्रोत्साहन प्रदान करता है।

Objectives: To develop the professional skill and promote research in the field of Theatre and Film.
The Department of theatre was established in the year 2006 and it has been marching forward since the date of its establishment. The department offers UG, PG, PhD & D.Litt. courses in Theatre and also includes Film Studies. The courses run by the department offer a complete study of Theatre and film as a combined art form. All the aspects of Theatre like Light, Set, Costume, Make Up, Property, and Direction are covered through our syllabi. Play Production i.e. performance and research is the core of the whole study process undertaken by the Department. Students’ from the department keep participating at various platforms like national festivals, competitions at various levels at regular intervals, which becomes another medium of indirect learning, continuing round the year.
More than fifty renowned theatre personalities have visited the department of Theatre I.K.S.V.V and are involved in both academic and per formative program conducted by the Department of Theater.
Renowned Theatre Personalities like Devendraraj Ankur, Waman Kendre, Dinesh Thakur, Satish Aalekar, Prabeer Guha, Padmshri Niranjan Goswami, M.K.Raina, Alopi Verma, Suman Kumar, Satybrat Raut and Danish Iqbal , Suresh Bhartdwaj, Shekhar Sen, Padmshri Kiran Sahgal, Ashok Vajpai, Namvar Singh and many more are regular visitors to the Department.

modern lifestyle. The yoga centre is established to give relevant training in Yoga so that, our students and staff will lead to a healthy and active lifestyle. It is one of the best known and effective forms of stress relief and helps students in concentrating better on their respective academic programmes. Yoga Centre gives knowledge of various forms of Pranayamas and Asanas useful in building muscular and developing mental strength. The Yoga Centre is running four months certificate course in Yoga and also started one year diploma from current academic session.

The Language Lab is established with the aim to develop language proficiency in the students and research scholars of the University. So as to contribute to their personality development and improve communication skills. Language lab is equipped with Wordsworth Language Lab Software and other E- learning, student friendly gadgets. Lab also helps to bridge the communication gap between national and international students. Language Lab is of much importance for Choice Based Ctrdit System (CBCS) pattern.
